Imitation
The night was cold and bleak
Seemed to wrap around me
Touching every bone in my physique,
Moon shining down,
the only light to show the way,
Spoke as if to guide me
So I would not roam astray,
No one was in sight
To lend a helping hand,
I had to walk alone
and it was more than I could stand,
Seeing the familiar lights
Assured me finally,
That I was home to warmth
And could sleep for eternity.
Iambic Tetrameter Octet
I had a little dog its fur was soft
It jumped up fast and wore a cast
I put on pants and ran to class
He stopped at school and got his tools
The teacher laughed but I was mad
They did not go they hate the shows
Open the door to find much more
Two Person Poem : Hang Up
How to hang up the telephone by Delia Ephron
‘Good-bye.’
‘Bye.’
‘Are you still there?’
‘Are you?’
‘Yeah. Why didn’t you hang up?’
‘Why didn’t you?’
‘I was waiting for you.’
‘I was waiting for you. You go first.’
‘No, you first.’
‘No, you first.’
‘No, you first.’
‘OK, I know. I‘ll count to three and we’ll both hang up at the same time. Ready? One, two, three. ‘Bye.’
‘’Bye.’…
‘Are you still there?’
‘Yeah.’
‘Why didn’t you?’
‘What do you mean, me?’
‘OK, do it again. This time for real. One, two, two and a half, two and three quarters, three. ‘Bye.’
‘’Bye.’
‘Hello.’
‘Hello.’
‘Are you still there?’
‘Yeah.’

You Can, I Will
You can be the beach
and
I will be the sand.
You can sail the oceans
and
I will rule the land.
You can shine the stars
and
I will hold the sky.
You can feel the sorrow
and
I will be the tear beneath your eye.
You can find the west
and
I will know the east.
You can have the most
and
I will claim the least.
You can be the leaves
and
I will be the trees.
You can blow the wind
and
I will bring the breeze.
You can show the day
and
I will rise the sun.
You can be the animals
and
I will watch you run.
You can keep your silence
and
I will be quite loud.
You can show humility
and
I will still be proud.
You can plant the garden
and
I will grow the flowers.
You can work the city
and
I will build the towers.
You can fly above
and
I will wait on ground.
You can form a square
and
I will roll around.
You can love the sweet
and
I will try the spicy.
You can hold the warmth
and
I will shield the icy.
You can spread the peace
and
I will fight the hate.
You can be my john
and
I will be your kate. (without the eight)
You can be my love
and
I will give you everything.
You can start our happiness
and
I will take a shiny ring.
You can be anything-just not none
because
I will then be nothing-but surely done.
Oh Mr. Sun
Oh Mr. Sun, what great beauty you create
Whether rising or setting never to be late.
Oh Mr. Sun, life is spread with your rays
You bring light and warmth to all of our days.
Oh Mr. Sun, we all revolve around you.
Your yellow is a perfect match to the sky's blue.
Oh Mr. Sun, when the clouds are your friends
Our bright days must quickly come to an end.
Oh Mr. Sun, you seem to smile upon us
So in scorching heat I try not to fuss.
Oh Mr. Sun, the most admired star aglow
As the center of our universe-not to stroke your ego.
Oh Mr. Sun, you help our world grow
What we would do without you? Hope I'll never know.
So Many Things.
Neither lost nor found
Wishing for wings
Stress and Confusion
So many things.
High hopes and dreams
Happiness she sings
Lost nonetheless
So many things.
Like stars shine
The heart blings
Numb is the feeling
So many things.
Keeping the faith
Love always stings
Waiting for more
So many things.
Everything to gain
New like mornings
Finding the way
So many things.
The past is a bell
It continuously rings
Surfacing the hurt
So many things.
Face the battle
Like the best of kings
Triumph for mind
So many things.
Seasons Change
The leaves may turn
The wind may blow
The snow falls fast
The ice will form
The frost will glow
The streets will empty
The cold will chill
The sun won't warm
The shovels will scrape
The winter wonder land forms
The beauty is seen
The seasons will change
The Option
It is such a shame the way we are treated
So disrespected, damaged, and cheated.
It is never fair the way things ended
He is praised and I am offended.
All I ever want is someone to care
That will appreciate me and always be there.
But there always has to be a twist
I'm just one girl on a very long list.
It teaches that I can't be so easy to trust
That sometimes its not real love, just lust.
It seems I'm just another girl he played
But ultimately I learn they're just afraid.
Even with all the downs and outs
I'm a better person without a doubt.
He didn't waist my time, he just made me see
That not everyone deserves a chance with me.
So when things seem to really get rough
Never think that you weren't enough
You should not be scared to find another person
Just remember if you stay things will only worsen.
Be true to yourself and you will never lose
Happiness is an option you merely have to choose.

Regression
It makes no sense we can not progress.
For what should be right in every way,
Is truly and unfortunately less.
This day is short and lacks in substance,
The hours run quick and uninspired.
Affirming all it needs is the chance,
Provokes waiting though weary and tired.
But life shows all days must end,
And all the bad must become the good.
The problems you are able to mend,
To find the potential to love, because you should.
That love, it takes many a form,
It may be lacking but in other ways there is a plenty.
Going Out
How terrible would be the sight.
When everything came falling down
To stop you,
no ones around.
Mistakes and problems were all a blur
What you did you're not sure.
You want to take it back
But that power you do lack.
Its not because you mean harm
You only wish to show your charm.
Now you must face the music
Its your destiny,
you must choose it.
Step back and assess your place
Because what you want,
you'll have to chase.
When you find your peace
Happiness you will release.
Always trying to avoid this
But not every time is fun and bliss.
It is always a risk
You think its worth it.
Bruises and bumps,
Falls and fights.
All the evidence,
of your horrible night.
What's important you can decide
And all the rest shall surely subside.
The weeknights hold the silence
and send a message more apparent
than any spoken words could.
It is the Michigan difference.
None are out or around to their leisure
but instead inside
behind walls and desks
computers and books.
To learn.
To understand.
The silence shows how a body of one
can share a similar focus.
The silence shows that focus.
A desire for more.
It is the Michigan difference.
The discipline to be great.
The leaders and best.
The streets are silent and dark
but the library lights are on
speaking volumes.
The loudest silence in Michigan,
is simply the silence itself.
Moving in waves
through the streets of AA.
Ah yes,
a typical Saturday.
Those of all ages
walking with excitement
for a single purpose.
As the waves pour in
as body of one,
the air is crisp
yet,
kissed with the dampness of the pregame essentials.
As the seats begin to fill
this sea of blue expands.
Transformed into an ocean,
the first play is called.
The roar of the audience
is the loudest of all.
Yells and horns,
whistles and grunts
drown the silence of the bowl.
In the midst of the game
a different wave persists.
Fan’s flinging arms is of what is consists.
Around and around it goes.
They say the players make the games.
I disagree.
Only insisting that it is the passion and pride
of the fans.
As the bowl drains and the fans empty
that passion follows them to wherever they retire.
The wave may subside,
but the passion still flows.
